LONGI
Longi
is a small town of about 1,900 inhabitants located in the Messina
province, at 616m a.s.l. It lies at a close distance to the Nebrodi
nature park. Nearby are the Rocche del Crasto (rising up to 1,315m
height) and the Piano del Lupo mounts (1,247m).
The
Grotta del Lauro, in the city surroundings, is a site of both geological
and historical interest, as relics from the Copper Age were discovered
inside it. The Serra di Curunna, the Bosco di Mangalavite and the
Serra del Re are sites of naturalistic interest, also located in
the vicinity of town.
The Chiesa della Santissima Annunziata is one of Longi’s most
attractive buildings. Inside, a marble statue representing the Madonna
is worthy of note.
